Hailey Hao, a native of Chongqing, China, is our Educational Access Coordinator. Her job is to oversee the programming and production on the Educational Channel. She works with students, teachers, parents and school administrators to create programming for the channel.
A little background about Hailey: While she was studying Tourism Management in China, she worked as a television program host/director for a Chinese/English bilingual program Jiaoliu (Interflow) and also worked as a Production Assistant for a children's TV show called Guai Wa Wa (Good Kids). These experiences made her realize that her passion was in media. So she took a big step and came to Boston to study Television Production in 2004. She graduated with a Masters of Science in Television Production from Boston University in 2006.
Before Hailey started the position at MATV, she worked as a freelance videographer and editor for several organizations, including the New England Patriots, Harvard Law School, and SpicesOfLife.com. She also makes independent films in her spare time. A short documentary about tattoos she directed and edited won the "New England Emerging Filmmaker" award at the Woods Hole Film Festival in 2007. Currently, she is working on a documentary about four young sisters supporting each other and pursuing their dreams.
Hailey started her position at MATV in Aug 2008 and she said it’s her great honor to be a part of this wonderful team and this great community, where she has already met so many wonderful and talented people. She believes “all together, we can make more great shows and give something great back to our community!” She is looking forward to sharing her experience in video production with more people.
